31 Weeks

Well, here we are again--one week further and another half an inch bigger (43 1/2 now). Each week gets a bit harder. Although, it doesn't look like I've grown much, I sure feel like it. I'm so exhausted by the end of the day. Yesterday I started having problems with my left hip and couldn't even hardly put any weight on it. I went to the chiropractor last night and everything is much better today. I did start to come down with a cold last night---sore throat and the sniffles. I figured it would happen sooner or later after starting work back up and being around all the sick kids.

Tomorrow I meet with a photographer, Tiffany Packard, to do my maternity photos. I am so excited!!

Next week we get Thursday and Friday off. I am looking forward to only having a 3 day work week!! It will be a much needed 4 day weekend to rest, clean house, and rest some more.

Here's what babygaga has to say about 31 weeks. Apparently, the girls are now gaining 1/2 a pound a week. No wonder it's getting harder and harder to walk. 1 pound a week added to my watermelon belly.........crazy!

So, I showed up at work on Tuesday to the staff at one of the elementary schools I work at presenting me with my very own front row parking. Staff are suppose to park in the very back but they have decided that for the remainder of the pregnancy I get front row parking. The picture of the sign above is on a stake in the ground labeling my very own personal spot! It was so thoughtful and so funny!
Does anyone even read this thing?

Doctor's Appointment Update

I had a doctor's appointment this past Monday. Doctor did say we are now doing weekly appointments. Everything checked out perfect at the appointment. Dr. Schroeder is confident that we will carry to twin term (37 weeks) and have 7 lb twins--this would be AMAZING! Both are still breech and when I asked her if she thought they would turn, she said no. She's certain that they are too packed in there. We are still hoping for a miracle but as of right now, we wait for labor to start and then do a c-section.

She also informed me that she will be out of town November 6-14th. I asked her if she'd be willing to do a scheduled c-section on November 5th if I haven't gone into labor by that time and she agreed. That will put us just 2 days shy of 37 weeks.

So far no activity restrictions. I'm still allowed to work out a bit and go to work. YIPPEE! She even gave me the ok for traveling (no flying, just short road trips). She said we'd take it week by week.

30 weeks!

Yes, I'm getting large. Luckily, just in the belly! I look like I swallowed a basketball (turned watermelon) and am fortunate that none of the largeness has really moved elsewhere. My current clothing crisis only involves shirts.

This week has been a tough week. I'm feeling extremely tired and my back is really starting to hurt. Several days this week I wasn't sure I was going to be able to put one foot in front of the other. But, then other days, I feel GREAT!!! It's those days that push me through. 30 weeks, we are thinking 5-8 weeks left! Crazy! Although, the time cannot go fast enough.

I have gotten lots of Braxton Hicks contractions that started at 18 weeks but they are now becoming frequent enough that the doctor wants to bump up monitoring. Recently, we been seeing the doctor every 2 weeks, but I think that is being bumped up to AT LEAST once a week. I am actually thrilled as this will be a constant reassurance that I'm not in pre-term labor or if I am this will allow them to catch it early enough to stop it. Sometimes all those "fake" contractions start to really get me concerned. But, even with all the "fake" contractions, I still have not been put on any activity restrictions. No bed rest for me! PRAISE GOD! I would go stir crazy! It's great that my job doesn't require me to be on my feet all day. However, pray I don't get seasonal or swine flu (or even a cold) from all the sick kiddos coming into my office!

This is what babygaga has to say about 30 weeks.

I'm growing fatties!

I had a growth ultrasound today and both babies are measuring about 2 weeks ahead of schedule. Baby A (Addison) is 3 lbs 9 oz and baby B (Olivia) is 3 lbs 15 oz. Ultrasound also shows that Olivia has hair!! Both babies are still breech so we are hoping they both turn in the next couple weeks. We only have a couple weeks where there's going to be room for them to turn. Both heartrates were excellent. Cervix is closed so no signs of labor!

Here's a chart that shows average weights for singletons during different stages of gestation.

Everything looks perfect so far!

29 Weeks

Strangely, it appears I got smaller this week. The girls must have shifted positions...please be heads down!!! I just got done doing water aerobics which to my surprise turned out to be a decent work out and the weightlessness felt amazing. Getting out was another story. I felt like I'd gained a TON!

Zac and I went to a yard sale (mom of twins) this morning and were able to find a play mat, 2 vibrating seats, and a twin nursing pillow. We got a great price on all of it!!! I am soooo excited about the twin nursing pillow. I've been drooling over them online but just couldn't bring myself to pay $50 for one. The one at this yardsale was $8! We snatched that one up fast!

This is what babygaga has to say about the girls and their development this week.

8 weeks left....

28 Weeks

Appointment on last Friday went great! Blood pressure is perfect--getting high blood pressure is common for a multiples pregnancy. Girls are both moving around and the doctor says they have strong heartbeats! The only thing that I am concerned about is that both are hanging out breech. Dr. Schroeder says there's only about 2-3 more weeks where there will enough room for the girls to move so we are praying that they turn heads down in the meantime.

I have another appointment on the 15th to do a more detailed ultrasound and will get weight estimates. The last detailed ultrasound 2 weeks ago they were measuring in at 2 lbs 2 oz so we may even be up to 3 lbs by next appointment!!

This is what has to say about development at 28 weeks.
