Addison was 7 lbs 7 oz. Olivia was 6 lbs 10 oz. They came out screaming and doing really well. However, blood sugars turned out being low and then they starting struggling to keep oxygen saturations up. They have fluid in their lungs so they have been continually grunting as a reflex to try to get the fluid out. Blood sugar issues are resolved today but girls are still on oxygen and the nurses can't seem to get them off of it without their saturations decreasing. The grunting has not improved so at this point, they are stable and we just wait.

I'm hugely overwhelmed (and feel hugely guilty for choosing to do this early). I did get to hold them both for the first time today. Still unable to breastfeed them until their respiratory stuff is resolved. So, I've been pumping and freezing the colostrum so its ready when they are.
